Motorcycle crash in Bourne sends 5 to hospital

BOURNE — A collision between a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of the Mid-Cape Connector and Sandwich Road sent five people to hospitals Thursday evening.

The Bourne Police Department received multiple 911 calls about the crash at approximately 8 p.m.

The operator of a black 2016 Harley Davidson XL-1200, a 32-year-old man from Sandwich, suffered significant injuries and was transported to a regional trauma center.

An off-duty EMT provided initial treatment to the motorcyclist at the scene.

The driver of a gray 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, a 27-year-old woman from Hyannis, along with an adult passenger and two juveniles, were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The crash caused traffic to be rerouted from the area while emergency personnel responded.

The Cape and Islands Accident Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the collision.
