DOVER — A young adult male was pronounced dead at the scene after his pickup truck struck a utility pole on Sixth Street near Longhill Road around midnight Friday.
Dover Police officers responded to the single-vehicle crash and found the truck had traveled off the roadway, shearing a utility pole.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle, according to police.
Detectives are actively investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
The driver’s identity is being withheld pending family notification and further investigation.
Sixth Street remains closed between Longhill Road and County Farm Cross Road as Eversource crews work to replace the damaged utility pole.
Police have established a detour via County Farm Road and County Farm Cross Road, with the closure expected to last several hours.
