WORCESTER — A 41-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attacking a taxi driver with a sharp object and stealing a bicycle, according to Worcester Police.
On May 14 at approximately 8:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Bancroft Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim bleeding from his chin and provided first aid before he was transported to the hospital.
The victim, who was alert and conscious, told police he had picked up a male passenger in Westborough and driven him to Worcester.
According to the victim, when he requested payment for the cab fare, the passenger struck him with a sharp object before fleeing the scene.
Police later located the suspect, identified as Daniel Burrows, riding a green bicycle on Bluff Street.
Investigators determined the bicycle had been stolen.
Burrows has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny, trespassing and providing false information.
