Man arrested for attempted murder after domestic dispute in Masonville

MASONVILLE — A 22-year-old Unadilla man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing a shotgun during a domestic dispute in Masonville.

Seth A. Ostrander was charged with Attempted Murder in the second degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm in the first degree, both Class B felonies, following the May 1 incident.

New York State Police and Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on State Highway 8 in the town of Masonville.

Upon arrival, Troopers determined that a verbal argument had escalated into a physical altercation during which Ostrander discharged a shotgun in the direction of another individual.

The victim was not struck by the gunfire and declined further medical treatment at the scene.

Ostrander was taken into custody and arraigned at Delaware County Centralized Arraignment.

The investigation is ongoing.
