NEEDHAM — A South Street resident reported a stolen license plate on May 5 at approximately 8:56 a.m., according to Needham Police Department records.
The plate was entered into the national database after the resident reported it was taken sometime over the weekend.
In another incident on May 9, an Oxbow Road resident reported a stolen license plate around 9:49 a.m.
On May 6 at approximately 6:50 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Highland Avenue near Gould Street for an unrestrained child violation, discovering that the vehicle’s registration plates were attached from another car.
The owner/operator, a 39-year-old Boston woman, will be summoned to court for a number plate violation/attaching, unregistered motor vehicle and child under 8 years old without a car seat restraint.
Police made an arrest on May 9 around 10 a.m. after stopping a vehicle for a red-light violation on Highland Avenue.
The operator was found to have a suspended license and a default warrant out of Framingham District Court, along with three out-of-state warrants from Louisiana and New Hampshire.
The driver was arrested and charged with a red-light violation, operating with a suspended license, and no license in possession, in addition to the default warrant.
Two of the out-of-state agencies are seeking extradition.
A single-vehicle crash occurred on May 6 at approximately 11:45 a.m. on South Street, where a vehicle struck a street sign and utility pole.
The Department of Public Works was notified to replace the sign, while Eversource Electric removed the pole from the vehicle.
Verizon was also contacted, and Roadside Rescue towed the vehicle.
Several fraud and larceny reports were also filed during the week, including unauthorized financial transactions reported by a Dale Street resident on May 5 and a contractor dispute reported by a Stewart Road resident on May 7.
