WARE — A Ware man was arrested Wednesday on charges of domestic assault and cruelty to animals, according to local police.
Jose Lopez Jr., 22, was taken into custody by members of the Ware Police Department on May 14 at 22 North Street.
Lopez faces charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and cruelty to animals, police said.
The arrest followed an investigation by the Ware Police Department.
Lopez was transported to Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown for arraignment.
Police confirmed the animals involved are safe and no longer in Lopez’s possession.
