Owego police report 9 arrests, including burglary and criminal mischief

OWEGO — The Owego Police Department reported 9 arrests during a two-week period from April 21 through May 11, according to a press release issued Monday.

Among those arrested was a 15-year-old juvenile charged with criminal mischief, an A misdemeanor, and criminal trespassing, a B misdemeanor, following an investigation of damaged property at the Belva Lockwood Apartments.

Charles Wilcox, 47, of Owego, was arrested for trespassing, a violation, at Cabinets by Marciano located at 9 Elm St.

Jayden J.J. Beers, 18, of Owego, was charged with obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, following an investigation of trespassing.

Another 15-year-old juvenile was taken into custody on a mental health hold after being reported as a danger to themselves and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Reice M. Winter, 21, and Caleb J. Harding, 26, both of Owego, were separately arrested for petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, following investigations of retail theft from the Family Dollar.

Jessica L. Spiegel, 44, described as homeless from Owego, was arrested for burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, following an investigation of trespassing and theft.

She was arraigned in Tioga County CAP Court and released on her own recognizance.

Kevin A. Salter, 44, of Owego, and Maurice J. Nembhard-Lackner, 29, of Ithaca, were both arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, following separate traffic investigations.

The department reported a total of 304 calls for service, 3 motor vehicle accidents, and 14 traffic tickets issued during the period.
