HANSON — Two Hanson police officers are being recognized for their assistance to an elderly woman who visited the police station following a motor vehicle crash.

Officer Billy Frazier and Sgt. Michael Bearce helped the woman, who has mobility issues, during her visit to the station on a rainy day.

The woman had stopped at the police station seeking information and assistance with a crash report after being involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Officer Frazier, who was working at the front desk, guided her through the procedure for obtaining the report.

As the woman was leaving the station, heavy rain began to fall.

Sgt. Bearce quickly retrieved an umbrella from his personal vehicle and escorted the woman to her car to keep her dry.

The woman’s family later contacted the Hanson Police Department to express their gratitude for the officers’ kindness and assistance.
