TROY, NY — Troy police arrested a 29-year-old man on drug and gun charges following a search warrant operation in South Troy on Wednesday, May 7, at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Special Operations Section Detectives, assisted by the Troy Police Emergency Response Team, executed the warrant as part of an ongoing gun and drug investigation.
Officers recovered an illegal handgun reported stolen from Georgia, a significant amount of cocaine, and over $3,500 in cash during the search.
Tony L. Speight of Troy was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a narcotic, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a loaded firearm, and criminal possession of stolen property.
Speight was arraigned in Troy City Court on Wednesday morning and subsequently released.
