RUTLAND — A Poultney man being held without bail at Marble Valley Correctional Center is facing more than 1,100 charges after allegedly contacting his domestic assault victim repeatedly over several months.

Todd Slade, 51, has been charged with 1,146 counts of contempt of court and obstruction of justice following an investigation that began April 29.

Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation determined that Slade, who was incarcerated for aggravated domestic assault, violated court orders by contacting or attempting to contact his victim between December 2024 and March 2025.

Investigators working with correctional facility staff found that Slade used both the prison telephone system and an inmate-issued tablet to make the prohibited communications.

During review of the calls, authorities discovered that Slade had allegedly attempted to obstruct justice by instructing his victim to take specific actions and make particular statements related to his case in an effort to secure his release from custody.

Slade remains in custody at the Rutland facility without bail.
