NY woman arrested for credit card theft in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH — A New York woman was arrested Saturday on charges related to unauthorized credit card use in Plattsburgh.

Mikayla E. Cota, 23, of AuSable Forks, N.Y., was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

State Police received a report of a larceny incident in the town of Plattsburgh at approximately 3:42 p.m. on May 9.

An investigation determined that Cota had been using the victim’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases at various locations.

Cota was taken into custody and transported to the State Police station in Plattsburgh for processing.

She was later released on appearance tickets requiring her to return to the Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date in May.
