East Millinocket woman arrested with 20 outstanding warrants after traffic stop

EAST MILLINOCKET — A local woman with 20 outstanding warrants was arrested Sunday evening following a traffic stop on Interstate 95, according to police.

Sergeant Clayton of the East Millinocket Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph on May 11.

The officer located and stopped a vehicle matching the description that was exceeding the posted speed limit, though not at the initially reported speed.

During the stop, police identified passenger Jade Simon, 36, of East Millinocket, who was discovered to have 20 outstanding warrants for her arrest.

The warrants included 17 for failure to appear and three for new criminal charges, police said.

According to authorities, the warrants encompassed various offenses including violation of bail, theft, traffic-related criminal violations, burglary, drug charges, criminal trespass, and multiple failures to appear.

Police noted that Simon had 10 active sets of bail conditions at the time of her arrest.

Simon was taken into custody and transported to Penobscot County Jail.
