Brighton school placed on lockout after stabbing incident

BRIGHTON — Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Tuesday at an apartment complex near an elementary school in Brighton.

At 11:39 a.m. on May 13, Brighton Police Department officers responded to a reported stabbing at 539 French Road.

Investigators determined that a male victim was stabbed multiple times during an altercation at the French Court Apartments.

The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

French Road Elementary School was placed on lockout during the investigation due to its proximity to the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to contact 9-1-1 and request to speak with a Brighton Police Department supervisor.

The investigation remains ongoing.
