ALBANY, NY — State Police arrested a 27-year-old Albany man on felony charges related to child sexual exploitation following an investigation that began with a cyber tip.
Angel J. Deleon was arrested May 9 for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.
The arrest came after authorities executed a search warrant at Deleon’s residence on May 8.
State Police from Latham conducted the investigation with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Officials said the investigation originated from a tip provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Deleon was processed at the State Police Latham barracks and arraigned at Albany City Court.
He was remanded to the Albany County Correctional facility in lieu of $2,500 cash, $2,500 bond or a $5,000 partially secured bond.
