Teen driver charged with DWI, child endangerment after Corinth crash

CORINTH — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury motor vehicle crash Sunday at 6:58 a.m. on County Route 24 in the town of Corinth.

Investigation into the crash revealed that a vehicle had been traveling eastbound on Fuller Road when it passed a stop sign, crossed County Route 24, and came to rest in an embankment on the east side of the roadway.

The operator of the vehicle, a minor, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated DWI (class E felonies), DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater (unclassified misdemeanors), two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanors), speed not reasonable and prudent, and moving from lane unsafely (infractions).

The driver is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition with two children under 15 years old as passengers, and with a blood alcohol content of 0.10%.

There were three passengers in the vehicle at the time of crash.

One passenger was taken by EMS to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of apparent facial injuries and pain to their shoulder, hip, and pelvis.

The second passenger complained of pain to their head and was treated on the scene.

The third passenger was not injured.

The operator of the vehicle, who was not injured, was arraigned on the Vehicle and Traffic Law charges in front of the Honorable Michael T. Woodcock in the Corinth Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further proceedings.

The investigation is ongoing.
