FREEPORT — A Hempstead woman faces manslaughter charges after allegedly stabbing a man during a domestic incident Friday evening in Freeport, according to Nassau County police.
Freeport Police responded to a call about a possible stabbing in front of a residence on Frederick Avenue at 6:51 p.m. on May 9.
Officers found an adult male with an apparent puncture wound and administered medical aid at the scene.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead by a physician at 8:30 p.m.
Detectives investigating the incident determined that Ivory Washington, 46, of Hempstead, stabbed the victim during what police described as a domestic incident.
Washington was arrested without incident and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
She has been charged with first-degree manslaughter and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
