BOLTON — A Saint Albans man is facing embezzlement charges after allegedly using a town-issued credit card for personal expenses totaling more than $6,700.
Allen-Michael Ashline, 31, was cited on May 11 following an investigation by Vermont State Police that began on April 15.
Authorities say Ashline, who served as the Road Foreman for the Town of Bolton, misused a credit card that was intended for work-related projects.
The investigation was launched after a select board member discovered the unauthorized charges.
Police determined Ashline had used the town card to purchase gas for his personal vehicle and numerous other personal items, with charges exceeding $6,730.
Ashline is scheduled to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division on June 17 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the embezzlement charge.
