ADDISON — A West Addison man faces multiple charges including DUI after a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 17 East and Middle Road on Saturday at 11:34 p.m.
Hunter Quesnel, 28, was identified as the operator of the vehicle involved in the crash, according to Vermont State Police from the New Haven Barracks who responded to the scene.
Troopers detected signs of impairment while speaking with Quesnel, police said.
Investigation revealed Quesnel failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing his vehicle to exit the road and crash.
According to police, Quesnel fled the scene after the crash but was later located and transported to an area hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.
During the investigation, authorities discovered Quesnel had attempted to deflect the investigation by falsely implicating another individual.
Quesnel was charged with DUI-refusal, leaving the scene of an accident, negligent operation, and providing false information to police officers.
He was issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 16 at 12:30 p.m.
Additional Vermont Civil Violation Complaints are pending, according to police.
