BOURNE — A 65-year-old Bourne man was arrested Saturday night after leading police on a brief pursuit that ended when his vehicle crashed into a tree.
Officers from the Bourne Police Department attempted to stop a white Chrysler 300 on Head of the Bay Road near Puritan Road at approximately 9:12 p.m. for having a cancelled license plate that belonged to a different vehicle.
The driver, identified as Robert Diaz, fled from officers in marked police cruisers, according to a police statement.
Diaz drove approximately half a mile on Head of the Bay Road before turning onto a dirt path where he crashed into a tree.
Police took Diaz into custody without further incident.
