ST. ALBANS — Police arrested six individuals and seized approximately 1.7 pounds of crack cocaine and 2,225 bags of fentanyl during a search warrant execution at an apartment on Rublee Street on May 9.
The search warrant was executed by the St. Albans Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit with assistance from Vermont State Police, Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, and Enosburg Rescue.
Those arrested on suspicion of cocaine and fentanyl trafficking include Jayden Olive, 18, of Springfield, Massachusetts; Marquise Boomer, 19, of Hartford, Connecticut; Gladiel Figueroa, 21, of Hartford, Connecticut; Terry Smith, 21, of Waterbury, Connecticut; Lacosta St. Francis, 31, of St. Albans; and Brett Yandow, 33, of St. Albans.
Police also seized approximately $8,000 in cash and three firearms during the operation.
According to authorities, the seized fentanyl has an estimated weight of approximately 60,000 milligrams, which exceeds the 70-milligram threshold for fentanyl trafficking under Vermont law.
After consultation with the courts, Olive and Boomer were each held for lack of $150,000 bail, while Figueroa and Smith were each held for lack of $250,000 bail at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.
Police indicated the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
