HERMON — A 76-year-old Stetson man has died from injuries sustained in a traffic crash that occurred earlier this week on Route 2 in Hermon, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeffrey Reutter succumbed to his injuries on May 8 at Eastern Maine Medical Center, three days after the collision.
The crash occurred on May 5 at approximately 1:39 p.m. when Reutter’s 2016 Ford F-250 pickup truck crossed the center line on Route 2 near New Boston Road and struck a Versant Power truck driven by 43-year-old Adam Powers.
Powers was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Reutter was initially transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after receiving several 911 calls reporting the crash with serious injuries.
The investigation involved the Sheriff’s Office unmanned aerial vehicle, Crash Reconstruction Team, and Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from Hermon Fire Department, Carmel Fire Department, Northern Light Emergency Medical Services, and the State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit.
