CORINTH — A local man sustained minor injuries after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing into a tree Saturday afternoon.
Nicholas Haskins, 47, of East Corinth, was driving on Vermont Route 25 near Limlaw Road when he dozed off, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.
Haskins was not wearing a seatbelt when his 2014 Dodge 1500 struck the tree around 1:27 p.m.
The impact threw Haskins into the windshield, resulting in minor injuries.
Emergency responders transported Haskins by ambulance to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled in the crash, which occurred under cloudy skies with dry road conditions.
Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by Vermont Fish and Game, Corinth Fire Department, Upper Valley Ambulance and Trahan Towing.
