SARATOGA SPRINGS — State Police arrested a Halfmoon woman for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on State Route 9 in Saratoga Springs.

Ganna Povysheva, 41, was stopped around 11:30 p.m. on May 3 for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.

After being transported to SP Saratoga for processing, Povysheva recorded a 0.18% blood alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit.

Povysheva was issued tickets for DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, returnable to Saratoga Springs City Court on June 5.

In a separate incident the same evening, State Police in New Scotland responded to a one-car crash on New Scotland Road around 9:40 p.m.

Kya Flagler, 25, of Delmar, allegedly crashed into multiple utility poles with two children under age 15 in the vehicle.

Flagler was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs with a Child, commonly known as Leandra’s Law, along with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

While in custody, Flagler allegedly attempted to destroy and conceal controlled substances, resulting in additional charges of Tampering with Physical Evidence, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, and Public Health Law violations.

A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Flagler, and a blood sample was taken to determine drug content.

Following arraignment at New Scotland Town Court, Flagler was released on her own recognizance.
