Police seize cocaine at west Springfield barber shop

WEST SPRINGFIELD — Members of the West Springfield Police Narcotics Unit, in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police, executed a search warrant at “West Side Cuts” barber shop on Wednesday, resulting in an arrest for cocaine possession.

The search, conducted at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the 84 Westfield St. location, led to the arrest of Erick Rolon Reyes of Clantoy Street, Springfield.

Officers discovered 20 individually packaged baggies containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine on Reyes, who was a patron at the business at the time of the search.

The substance had a total weight of 15.7 grams, according to police.

Reyes was charged with possession to distribute a Class B substance (cocaine), subsequent offense.

The search warrant stipulated that “all parties present” were included in the search parameters.

Authorities transported Reyes from the scene without incident following his arrest.
