NORWALK — A 70-year-old high school softball coach turned himself in to police on May 9 after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior and unwanted touching of students.
Cary Nadel of Wilton faces four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and one count of risk of injury to a minor, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
The investigation began April 1 when police received reports about a Norwalk High School softball coach engaging in inappropriate behavior with students.
Special Victims Unit Detective English conducted the investigation, which revealed the incidents occurred on school grounds.
Stamford Superior Court granted an arrest warrant for Nadel, who surrendered at police headquarters.
Nadel, who resides at 274 Nod Hill Road in Wilton, was held on $100,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on May 23.
