North Haven man charged with voyeurism, stalking after peeping incident

NORTH HAVEN — A Wallingford man was arrested after allegedly peeping through the bedroom window of two young women at an apartment complex, police said Friday.

The incident occurred at 520 Washington Ave. at the Flats on Thursday, May 8, at night.

Two female residents reported seeing a man looking through their bedroom window, an incident that was captured on exterior video footage.

The victims told police similar incidents had occurred several times in the past and that they did not know the individual.

Officers located the suspect a short distance from the apartment complex.

Police identified the man as Shawn Cornell, 48, of Wallingford.

Cornell was charged with voyeurism with malice, second-degree stalking and breach of peace.

He was held on a $10,000 bond.
