NEW LISBON — A 33-year-old New Lisbon man was arrested following an investigation into allegations of domestic violence, the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
Robert J. Harris faces two counts of second-degree criminal contempt in the Town of New Lisbon and one count of second-degree menacing in the Town of Pittsfield.
According to investigators, Harris located a family member at a residence in the Town of Pittsfield during February and placed the victim in fear for their life and safety by brandishing a baseball bat.
The investigation also revealed that Harris violated a court order prohibiting him from contacting the victim.
After consultation with the Otsego County District Attorney’s Office, Harris was located in the Village of New Berlin and taken into custody without incident on May 9.
Harris was processed at the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to correctional staff to await centralized arraignment.
The case will be heard in the Towns of Pittsfield and New Lisbon Courts.
