PUTNEY — Two pedestrians have been identified following a Thursday morning crash where a vehicle left the roadway and struck them on a Main Street sidewalk.
Diane E. Clementine, 77, of Putney, sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident, according to Vermont State Police.
Deborah Bozetarnik, 68, also of Putney, received minor injuries when the same vehicle struck both women.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:08 a.m. on May 8 when Jason A. Ball, 23, of Alstead, New Hampshire, allegedly drove off the road and onto the sidewalk.
Ball was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and operating a vehicle in a grossly negligent manner.
Following processing at the Westminster Barracks, Ball was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility with bail set at $25,000.
Ball is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court at 12:30 p.m. on May 9 to face charges of DUI with serious bodily injury or death resulting and gross negligent operation.
