SOMERS — A single-car rollover accident blocked both lanes of Lake Road on Sunday evening, requiring emergency responders to extricate the driver from the vehicle.
The Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash near the intersection of Orchard Hill Road and Lakewood Drive at 6:47 p.m.
Fire and emergency medical personnel arrived to find the overturned vehicle completely obstructing traffic in both directions.
Rescue crews successfully freed the trapped patient from the wreckage.
Emergency units remained at the scene for approximately one and a half hours before clearing.
The incident was one of three motor vehicle accidents handled by the Somers Volunteer Fire Department on Sunday.
