2 arrested in Bethel traffic stop on drug charges

BETHEL — Two men were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop on River Street Extension at approximately 11:10 p.m. Thursday.

Joshua Billings, 43, of Northfield, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, according to Vermont State Police.

Jeffrey Morse, 38, of Barre City, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested for possession of illicit drugs.

Troopers from the Royalton Barracks conducted the traffic stop after observing motor vehicle violations.

During the investigation, Billings displayed signs of impairment, police said.

Both men were transported to the Royalton State Police Barracks for processing.

They were later released on citation to appear in court at a later date.
