NEWPORT — A Newport woman was arrested Thursday after police found her in possession of a stolen vehicle at a local fast food restaurant.
Brittany Danforth, 32, of Newport, was cited for operating without owner’s consent and possession of stolen property after police located her with a vehicle reported stolen earlier in the day.
Vermont State Police received a call from Nicole Richardson, 38, of Troy, at approximately 12 p.m. Thursday reporting her vehicle had been stolen.
The vehicle was later located by Newport Police Department in the Wendy’s parking lot with Danforth inside.
Danforth was issued a citation to appear in Orleans County Superior Court on June 10 at 10 a.m.
