Stolen vehicle recovered in Needham after being abandoned

NEEDHAM — A vehicle reported stolen from North Reading was recovered in Needham after being found abandoned at the intersection of Gilbert Road and Marked Tree Road.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 6:59 p.m. on April 28 following reports of an abandoned vehicle.

Upon investigation, police determined the vehicle had been stolen from North Reading.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the matter remains under investigation.

In other police activity, a 31-year-old Hyde Park resident was issued a criminal citation on April 29 after a traffic stop on Kendrick Street revealed the vehicle’s registration was revoked due to lapsed insurance.

The driver will be summoned to Dedham District Court for failure to stop at a red light, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating with a suspended registration.

On May 2, officers responded to a 2nd Avenue residence for a report of breaking and entering.

A 29-year-old Needham resident was arrested on May 4 on a warrant at a Highland Avenue address.
