SOMERVILLE — Somerville police responded to a series of residential break-ins and assault incidents over the past week, according to police reports.
On April 29 at 11:42 a.m., officers were called to a residence on Nevada Avenue where a victim reported someone had broken into his home and stolen credit cards from his wallet.
In a separate incident on May 1 at 2:20 p.m., police responded to a business on Somerville Avenue after receiving reports of someone attempting to enter a vehicle.
The victim told officers that a male suspect tried to enter her vehicle in the parking lot before running to a gas station across the street where he brandished a knife at another individual.
Officers apprehended the suspect and placed him under arrest.
On May 4 at 7:24 p.m., police responded to Foley Street for a reported assault where a victim stated she was standing on the sidewalk holding a sign when two individuals approached her and one grabbed her.
Earlier that same day at 11:22 a.m., officers responded to Hanson Street for a fight and found a male suffering from injuries to his head and nose.
A witness told police he observed the victim arguing with another male before being pushed.
On May 5 at 5:55 p.m., police were called to a residence on Lowell Street where they discovered three separate units had been broken into, with jewelry and cash reported stolen.
Additional crimes reported during this period included one bicycle theft, two package thefts, two motor vehicle vandalisms, one car break-in, and one vandalism incident.
