PLATTSBURGH — A 41-year-old Plattsburgh man was arrested Tuesday on felony charges after allegedly forging documents to sell a vehicle he didn’t own.
Joseph A. Burnell Jr. was charged with second-degree forgery and fourth-degree grand larceny following an investigation by Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The arrest occurred at 8:32 p.m. on April 29.
According to authorities, Burnell allegedly forged a bill of sale and sold a motor vehicle to another person in January without the knowledge or permission of the vehicle’s titled owner.
The incident took place in the Town of Plattsburgh.
Burnell was processed on the charges and returned to the Clinton County Jail, where he was already being held on an unrelated matter.
He is scheduled to appear in Plattsburgh Town Court at a later date.
