POWNAL — Vermont State Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred between 6:30 and 6:38 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Route 7 and Vermont Route 346.
First responders arrived after the crash was reported at about 6:40 a.m. and began providing emergency care to the victim, a woman whose name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The injured pedestrian was transported to a hospital in Albany, New York, with her current condition unknown.
Troopers are gathering evidence at the scene, and members of the Crash Reconstruction Team have joined the investigation.
Police currently have no description of the suspect or vehicle involved in the crash.
