PORTLAND — Kristofer Haken, a 46-year-old Londonderry man wanted in connection with a Portland shooting, surrendered to New Hampshire Probation and Parole at 10 a.m. Wednesday, approximately 24 hours after authorities issued an arrest warrant and wanted poster.
Haken had been evading law enforcement for about six months following a November 8, 2024, arrest warrant from the Portland Police Department stemming from a July 30, 2024, incident.
The U.S. Marshals Service Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) had obtained a federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution on May 6.
Haken is currently in custody at a New Hampshire correctional facility and will be extradited to Maine to face federal and state charges.
Upon return to Maine, Haken will be charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Elevated Aggravated Assault and two counts of Elevated Aggravated Assault by the Portland Police Department.
The case appears connected to a Forest Avenue shooting last July, for which five other individuals were previously arrested in November 2024.
Those previously arrested include Kaleb A. Cidre, 22, of Windham; Jason J. Keenan, 45, of Bath; James D. Moody, 30, of Bowdoin; Caleb S. Pelkey, 33, of Portland; and Nathan T. Walsh, 48, of Lewiston.
Multiple agencies assisted in the fugitive investigation, including the Portland Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service Districts of New Hampshire and Northern New York, New Hampshire Probation and Parole, Barrington New Hampshire Police Department, Hartford Police Department, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General.
