Hadley police arrest woman wanted in Florida after shoplifting report

HADLEY — Hadley police arrested a 30-year-old Queens, N.Y., woman wanted in Florida following a shoplifting incident at the Mountain Farms Mall on May 7.

Officers were dispatched to Ulta Beauty shortly before 6 p.m. after receiving a report of shoplifting suspects leaving the store.

The caller remained on the line with dispatchers and reported the suspects had entered the Paper Store and then Old Navy.

Responding officers located and detained the suspects in Old Navy.

During the investigation, officers discovered one suspect, Jessirith Serque-Miranda, was wanted in Florida for Grand Larceny with full extradition authorized.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in Florida confirmed the warrant and stated they would return Serque-Miranda to Florida.

Serque-Miranda was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice and Possession of a Theft Detection Deactivator, a felony.

Police said a summons for the other suspect will be issued at a later date.
