BOSTON — A 17-year-old male was arrested Wednesday evening in Mattapan after police discovered he was carrying a loaded firearm with a large capacity magazine.
Officers from District B-3 were patrolling Woodmere Avenue around 8:07 p.m. when they observed four males walking in the area.
Police noticed one individual walking with his right arm pinned to his body while manipulating an object in his waistband.
Officers exited their cruiser to investigate and conducted a pat frisk after suspecting the individual was armed.
During the search, police observed the handle of a firearm protruding from the front of the suspect’s waistband.
After securing the weapon, detectives identified it as a Keltec PMR 30 with one round in the chamber and twenty-nine rounds in the magazine.
The juvenile was arrested and faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
