CLIFTON PARK — State Police arrested three individuals on drug charges following a traffic stop on I-87 in Clifton Park.
Jahzayn Dejesus, 20, of Schenectady, NY, Colby English, 46, of Crown Point, NY, and Omarion D. Skipwith, 21, of Schenectady, NY, were all charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The arrests occurred on May 2 after troopers stopped a vehicle at 11:46 p.m. on May 1 for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.
Skipwith was identified as the driver, while Dejesus and English were passengers in the vehicle.
During the investigation, which included assistance from a Saratoga County Sheriff’s K9 unit, authorities discovered felony-weight narcotics and a large amount of U.S. currency in the vehicle.
All three individuals were taken into custody, at which time English was found to possess a smoking device containing drug residue.
Authorities allege that prior to being taken into custody, Skipwith attempted to destroy and conceal a controlled substance by stepping on it.
Skipwith faces additional charges of Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
The three suspects were transported to SP Clifton Park for processing and issued appearance tickets returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on May 7.
Dejesus and English were released, while Skipwith was turned over to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office due to an active unrelated warrant.
