Worcester man arrested for drug distribution near library

WORCESTER — Worcester Police Vice Squad officers arrested a 34-year-old man on drug distribution charges following an alleged transaction near the Worcester Public Library on May 6.

At about 11 a.m., officers observed what appeared to be a hand-to-hand transaction in a Myrtle St parking lot, according to police.

Officers stopped a female who appeared to be the buyer and discovered what appeared to be crack cocaine.

The other party involved in the transaction, identified as Isiah Edmonds, was also stopped by officers who found what appeared to be fentanyl in his possession.

Edmonds was placed under arrest and charged with Distribution of a Class B Substance (second or subsequent) and Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute (second or subsequent).

The arrest was part of the Worcester Police Department’s ongoing efforts to enforce drug laws in the area around the public library.
