Woman found slumped over wheel in Lancaster drive-thru charged with DWI

LANCASTER — A woman was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated after employees at a village pharmacy reported her slumped over the wheel in the drive-thru lane on March 14.

Pharmacy staff told police the driver was in and out of consciousness with a box of wine visible on the passenger seat.

Responding officers confirmed the presence of the wine box and asked the driver, who identified herself as the registered owner of the vehicle, to exit the car.

The woman failed standard field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

Her vehicle was towed from the scene.

A motorcyclist was cited for reckless driving after being clocked at 103 mph in a 45 mph zone on Broadway near Cemetery Road.

Two individuals were arrested during a traffic stop on Transit Road after both provided false names to officers, with one found in possession of suspected crack cocaine.

Police also responded to a grand larceny at a Transit Road department store where suspects allegedly stole over $1,200 worth of merchandise, including multiple vacuum cleaners.

A criminal mischief case was reported at a Transit Road restaurant when a customer discovered his car window damaged after dining between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

An attempted larceny was reported at a Walden Avenue automotive dealer after security footage showed a man trying to enter several vehicles in the parking lot.
