NEW BEDFORD — Detectives arrested a 22-year-old man on drug trafficking charges following the execution of a search warrant at a Court Street residence on Wednesday.
Tyrell Thomas was taken into custody after police conducted a traffic stop and found 72 grams of crack cocaine in his vehicle, according to the New Bedford Police Department.
A subsequent search of Thomas’s home at 159 Court Street yielded an additional 60.6 grams of crack cocaine and 50 grams of suspected fentanyl.
Police also seized oxycodone and Percocet tablets, unidentified blue tablets, a digital scale, a 6-round .30 ammunition magazine, narcotics packaging materials, and $11,541 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Thomas faces charges of trafficking in 100 grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in 36 grams or more of fentanyl, and possession with intent to distribute a class B drug.
Detective Nathan Almeida made the arrest, which concluded an investigation into a cocaine distribution operation allegedly run by Thomas.
