PORTLAND — A Portland Police officer arrested a man with 18 outstanding warrants Tuesday while patrolling Congress Square Park.
The officer recognized and approached 46-year-old Kabir Geiger at 5:27 p.m., taking him into custody without incident.
Geiger, who is unhoused, was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
Six different agencies had warrants for Geiger’s arrest, including Portland, Westbrook, South Portland, Gorham, the Maine State Police and the CSX Railroad Police.
Four of the warrants were for felonies, including Robbery, Theft By Unauthorized Taking or Transfer with priors, Trafficking In Prison Contraband and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with priors.
The warrants also included 19 separate drug-related charges.
