RICHFORD — A 44-year-old Richford man faces a driving under the influence charge after crashing his motorcycle Wednesday afternoon on Stevens Mills Road.
Francis Clogston was operating a 2001 Honda 750 motorcycle when he overturned the bike before reaching a downhill right curve near 569 Stevens Mills Road, according to Vermont State Police.
The crash occurred at 2:27 p.m. under clear skies on a dry, dirt-covered pavement.
Clogston, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, separated from the motorcycle and came to rest off the southbound shoulder of the roadway.
He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Northwestern Medical Center.
The motorcycle sustained damage to its side and tank.
Investigation revealed Clogston was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, police said.
Clogston was processed for DUI and cited to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
