NEWTON — A woman reported missing from the Newton Highlands area has been located, according to the Newton Police Department.
Maria Cristina Fernandez, who had been missing since Sunday, May 4, was found safe, police announced Tuesday.
Fernandez, 5’4″ and 135 pounds with red hair and blue eyes, had last been seen wearing tan flip flops, a blue hat and a blue scarf.
Police had previously said she was believed to be traveling via MBTA or on foot and had ties to the Newton, Wellesley and Framingham areas.
No additional details about where or how she was found were immediately available.
