ST. ALBANS — A Massachusetts man was arrested Wednesday on an out-of-state warrant as he was being released from a Vermont correctional facility.
Davidson Altimo, 28, was taken into custody May 7 after officials discovered he had an active arrest warrant from Massachusetts for a probation violation.
The Vermont State Police said Altimo was about to be released from Northwest State Correctional Facility for unrelated charges when the warrant was discovered.
According to authorities, Altimo’s probation violation was related to initial charges including armed carjacking, armed robbery, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing ammunition without an FID card, possessing a large capacity firearm, possessing a sawed-off shotgun, and receiving stolen property valued over $1,200.
Altimo was ordered held without bail at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Vermont Superior Court, Franklin Criminal Division, on May 8 at 1 p.m.
