MANCHESTER — A Manchester man was arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots outside a Pine Street residence early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 2:50 a.m., a Manchester Police officer in the area of Chestnut and Concord Streets reported hearing what sounded like gunshots.
A check of the ShotSpotter system confirmed an activation in the area.
Within moments, responding officers arrived on scene and observed a man holding a rifle while getting into a vehicle.
The individual, who also had a pistol holstered on his hip, did not initially comply with officers’ commands to exit the vehicle but ultimately did so and was taken into custody without further incident.
Through their investigation, officers identified the suspect as 35-year-old Stephen Yao of Manchester.
Police determined that Yao had fired multiple shots outside a residence on Pine Street.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
Yao has been charged with Reckless Conduct and Criminal Threatening.
