CORTLANDVILLE — A Cortland man was arrested on drug charges following a routine traffic stop in Cortlandville on May 6.
Austin Miller, 36, of West Main Street in Cortland, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office initiated the traffic stop at 4:32 p.m. after observing a vehicle violating New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law on Route 13 near Starr Road.
During the stop, deputies discovered Miller, a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of a controlled substance.
Miller was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court on May 19 at 1 p.m.
