Bicyclist, 80, struck by Amazon delivery vehicle in Cohasset

COHASSET — An 80-year-old Rockland man was injured Wednesday when his bicycle was struck by an Amazon delivery vehicle on Route 3A, police said.

Cohasset Police responded to the scene between Pond Street and Mendel Road at 11:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a bicyclist hit by a car.

Officers found the elderly cyclist on the ground being assisted by passing motorists.

Witnesses told police that a 2021 Ford Escape, driven by a 30-year-old Hyde Park man, collided with the bicyclist in the northbound lanes of Route 3A.

The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle involved was being used as an Amazon delivery vehicle at the time of the incident.

The crash remains under investigation, and no citations have been issued.
