BOSTON — A 17-year-old male was arrested on drug trafficking charges Saturday afternoon following a police operation in Dorchester.

Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Unit observed the juvenile suspect meeting with two other individuals near 10 Gibson Street at approximately 3 p.m. on May 3.

Police witnessed what appeared to be a drug transaction before the individuals separated.

One person was stopped and found with a plastic bag of fentanyl, while the juvenile suspect fled on an electric scooter toward Adams Street.

Officers later located the teen near 1580 Dorchester Avenue, where he allegedly resisted arrest despite multiple de-escalation attempts.

A search following the arrest revealed eight plastic bags of fentanyl, including the bag allegedly sold during the observed transaction.

The recovered drugs weighed approximately 17.7 grams of fentanyl, according to police.

The juvenile faces multiple charges including trafficking Class A drugs, distribution of Class A drugs, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
